April 2011 - First photos
  • After David Hasselhoff sat in my K.I.T.T. for the first time at the Fernsehgarten 2010, I decided to put a few photos in 20x30 cm on the blind under my rear window at meetings and events. Unfortunately, the photos deformed in the heat, so that soon a better solution had to be found...

2012 - Plexiglass 90x60 cm
  • From 2012, I used an anti-reflective Plexiglass sheet in the format 90x60 cm, which I put on photos in the format 20x30. Due to the plexiglass, the pictures no longer deformed in the heat and it looked neater.
  • On display were pictures of David Hasselhoff in the Fernsehgarten 2010 and a picture from the filming of "Alarm für Cobra 11".
  • In the center, I presented logos from press and TV appearances. The pictures were still lying individually under the Plexiglass and always slipped when I opened the tailgate.

2013 - More images
  • As of 2013, the images of David Hasselhoff were of course joined by those of Rebecca Holden (April Curtis, season 2), Peter Parros (RC III, season 4) and Michael Scheffe (designer of K.I.T.T.) from Knight Con 2012. I also used the image from the filming of "Alarm für Cobra 11".
  • In the lower section I showed some pictures of the building process.
  • So that it no longer slipped, I connected the pictures on the back with tape and attached the whole thing all around to the Plexiglass. On the back I attached very thin neodymium magnets, which in turn were held on the opposite side of the blind by stronger magnets, so that the whole thing no longer slipped when I opened the tailgate.

June 2014 - New references + TV shows & autographs
  • In June 2014 I exchanged some pictures. They were still individual photos connected from behind with adhesive tape, so that the exchange of individual motifs was still easy.
  • Instead of the conversion pictures, I put photos of TV appearances as well as a picture of my tailgate cover autographs, which were otherwise only seen when the tailgate was open. I now also created the logos from press appearances as a colored photo, which just looked better.

January 2017 - Many new pictures
  • In January 2017, many photos were exchanged. After I met David Hasselhoff again at Comic Cons as well as Robert Englund ("Fright Knight", season 4), I also included these photos. In addition, there were now many small pictures of star meetings at the bottom of the poster.
  • They were still individual photos connected together. Only the small 4x6 cm images were printed on a 20x30 cm photo and cut out and connected in a row.

August 2020 - The Blu-ray cover
  • In August 2020 another redesign took place. The focus of the images was now the official cover of the upcoming "Knight Rider" Blu-ray, which was created from a photo of my K.I.T.T. - The highlight: I built a working scanner light behind the motif! For this I used the scanner light from the Fanhome K.I.T.T. kit issue 5, of which I got several single copies from the test run via eBay. The scanner light is connected to the vehicle electronics and can be switched on and off via the center console!
  • Already in October 2017 I had met Tom Wilson ("A Knight in shining Armor", season 2) at the German Comic Con in Berlin. Also his photo should now finally be included, although he did not take place behind the wheel.
  • Due to the mass of images I used for the first time no longer glued together individual photos, but created the collage in high resolution on the PC and had it printed in the format 90x60 cm as a poster.

  • Unfortunately, the Blu-ray release continued to be a long time coming and I wasn't allowed to show the cover publicly yet. Therefore I covered it in public by another picture...
April 2022 - Blu-ray cover comparision image + new stars
  • In April 2022, I was able to meet two more Knight Rider stars at the German Comic Con in Dortmund: Vernon Wells ("Hills on fire", season 4) and Brian Thompson ("Sky Knight" season 4).
  • Due to the mass of images, the format 90x60 cm was no longer enough, so I changed to the full width of 120x60 cm. For this, a new non-reflective Plexiglas had to be made and of course a new poster had to be printed.
  • I also came up with something new for the Blu-ray cover: So that you could see that the cover motif was created from a photo of my K.I.T.T., I built a collage in which the images blended into each other. Again, the scanner light from the Fanhome kit was installed. Above this I showed the motif of the digipacks where a side view of my K.I.T.T. was used to create a beautiful motif.

August 2022 - Blu-ray cover as lenticular image
  • In July 2022, I realized that the Plexiglas had become too large and too heavy for the poster underneath. The plexiglass is about 5 mm larger than the poster all around and was attached to the poster at the edges by black insulating tape, which in turn is held to the rear blind by magnets. This had worked well for years at 90x60 cm. Now, however, the insulating tape came loose in the heat, causing the plexiglass to slip and the poster to buckle. A new solution was needed!
  • At an advertising company I had the poster printed on foil, which was glued directly onto the Plexiglas from behind. Thus, nothing could slip more.
  • I also came up with something new for the Blu-ray cover: To create a really unique effect, I had a lenticular image of the covers created alternating with the original photos. The lenticular effect is horizontal, so all you have to do is move your head from left to right (or just walk past the image) to see the image change. Again, the working scanner light came behind the motif, so it made for a really great effect.
  • Video of my image panel with lenticular image and working scanner light:

  • I hope this solution will exist for a long time. In the end, it was quite expensive now 🤪
