Autographs on my K.I.T.T.

After having had the honor of welcoming several stars from "Knight Rider" to my K.I.T.T., I of course had them sign the car as well. However, to ensure that it can continue to be used for filming, these autographs should ideally not be directly visible. So I chose the inner cover of my tailgate. You can only see it when the trunk is open; it protects the autographs from direct UV light - which would otherwise cause them to fade over time - and offers plenty of space...
I never would have guessed that it would get this crowded at some point... otherwise, I probably wouldn't have asked for the first two autographs 😉

2011-06-12 - Alarm für Cobra 11

On 12th June 2011, I met Erdogan Atalay and Tom Beck, the lead actors in the German TV action series "Alarm für Cobra 11", during the filming of the episode "72 Hours of Fear" in which my dashboard is seen several times during a car chase involving a K.I.T.T. replica.
Since this was my first time "filming" with K.I.T.T., I had them both sign the right side of the tailgate cover. I wanted to leave the left side blank in case I ever met David Hasselhoff - then he could sign there too.

2012-09-01 - Peter Parros, Rebecca Holden, Michael Scheffe

From 31st August to 2nd September 2012, I attended KnightCon in Castleford, England. There, I met Peter Parros (RC III, Season 4), Rebecca Holden (April Curtis, Season 2), and Michael Scheffe, the designer of K.I.T.T.
Of course, all three of them were supposed to sign the tailgate cover as well, which I had removed from the car for the autograph session. As a result, it was already filling up quite a bit. I reserved some space in the middle of the cover for David Hasselhoff.
I also had all three of them sign a KnightCon program booklet for me.
On 22nd June 2018, Michael Scheffe also signed one of his designs for the Season 3 dashboard for me, which fits my replica.

2014-05-23 - David Hasselhoff

On 14th May 2014 I was finally able to meet David Hasselhoff in person. He had already driven my K.I.T.T. onto the ZDF Fernsehgarten set back in August 2010, but I couldn't be there myself at the time because I was on my honeymoon in the U.S. Back then, I only got an autograph on a photo.
My K.I.T.T. wasn't there this time, but I had brought the tailgate cover with me to have it autographed. As the star of the show, David got the place of honor in the center of the cover, and I also had him sign it with a gold Edding marker.
I also had two photos from the "Fernsehgarten" appearance signed.

I've met David Hasselhoff again at several other events after that, and on 3rd December 2016, I also had him sign the passenger-side door panel so that I would have a visible autograph inside the car. I also had him sign a portrait of "Michael Knight" for my wife and me.

2016-10-15 - Robert Englund

On 15th October 2016, I met Robert Englund at German Comic Con in Berlin. He played the role of "The Phantom" in the 20th episode ("Fright Knight") of the fourth season of "Knight Rider". So I asked him to sign my tailgate cover as well, which he gladly did. He also signed two photos for me featuring screenshots from the series. Robert is known worldwide as "Freddy Krueger" from "A Nightmare on Elm Street".

2017-09-30 - Tom Wilson

On 30th September 2017, I met Tom Wilson at "German Comic Con" in Berlin. He played a small supporting role as Chip the waiter in the 13th episode ("A Knight in Shining Armor") of the second season of "Knight Rider". Tom is known worldwide as "Biff Tannen" from the "Back to the Future" trilogy!
He also signed my tailgate cover, but he didn't want to take a photo with K.I.T.T. Instead, I took several photos with him and some BTTF props, and I also had him sign a BTTF poster and a DVD box set.

2022-04-23 - Vernon Wells, Brian Thompson

On 23rd April 2022, I ran into two villains from "Knight Rider" at "German Comic Con - Spring Edition" in Dortmund!
Vernon Wells played the role of "Wilson" in the 18th episode ("Hills of Fire") of the fourth season of "Knight Rider". He is known worldwide for his roles in films such as "Commando", "Mad Max 2", "Power Rangers: Time Force" and "Innerspace".
Brian Thompson played the role of the terrorist "Kurt" in the fourth episode ("Sky Knight") of the fourth season of "Knight Rider". He is known worldwide for his roles in films such as "The Terminator", "City Cobra", "Star Trek: Generations" and "Mortal Kombat 2".
They were both very nice and came over to my K.I.T.T. to pose for photos and sign autographs on tailgate cover.

2023-12-02 - Kevin Pike

Kevin Pike is a special effects supervisor in Hollywood and, among other things, built the DeLorean time machine for "Back to the Future".
I met him on 2nd December 2023, at German Film & Comic Con in Dortmund. There, he told me that he was also responsible for modifying K.I.T.T.'s voice box on "Knight Rider" from a red flashing light (episodes 1–13) to the three familiar light bars (starting with episode 14).
So I had him sign my tailgate cover, too. He also signed a BTTF poster for me.
