Tag 1 - Samstag (09.05.2026)
  • On 9th+10th May 2026, ComicPark took place once again in the beautiful EGApark in my hometown of Erfurt. After nearly the entire week leading up to it had been marked by bad weather, the weather showed its best side on both days of the weekend, allowing me to participate with K.I.T.T. on both days. The following Monday, the weather took a sharp turn for the worse. It was as if someone had planned it that way on purpose 😉
  • Once again this year, K.I.T.T. wasn't the only attraction. Alex from Filmautos24.de brought his DeLorean time machine from "Back to the Future" again. And Alex from Alex Eventfahrten in Dresden parked his Ecto-1 next to the Ghostbusters German Division. All three vehicles were positioned right at the entrance, so every visitor passed by them.
  • There were plenty of familiar faces in attendance once again: AJ-Designs from Nuremberg with their impressive Transformers costumes, Umbrella Academy, Heldenherz & Königstöchter from Erfurt, and many more. In addition, there were various post-apocalyptic vehicles and a few cars decked out in manga-style decals.
  • In addition, there were hundreds of cosplayers and street performers, for whom ComicPark in Erfurt has become a staple among conventions.
  • Once again, the numerous sales and themed booths stretched across the entire EGApark and the main lawn. The number of booths grows every year. ComicPark also featured a hall dedicated to comic artists, various workshops, and, as always, an extensive entertainment program on two stages.

  • The first parade through the park took place on Saturday at 11:30. My family hadn't arrived yet at that time, so Safa got to ride along dressed as "Spider-Man", which brought a smile to many children's faces.
  • The parade once again wound its way through the entire park, whose streets were lined with spectators.

  • This year, there were once again four German voice actresses: Gabrielle Pietermann (German voice of Emma Watson, Selena Gomez, and many others), Giuliana Jakobeit (German voice of Keira Knightley, Amy Adams, and many others), Lea Kalbhenn (German voice of Candace in Phineas and Ferb, and many others) and Julia Bautz (German voice of Niffty in Hazbin Hotel, Fiona in Adventure Time, and Chloe in Pokémon, and many others)
  • Actually, the only one I knew was Giuliana, whom I had already met at the German Comic Con Spring Edition 2024 in Dortmund, so we didn't take any more photos with K.I.T.T. this time...

  • What I found more interesting was the presence of Norman Cöster and Tommy Krappweis - the creators of German TV character Bernd the Bread. Tommy is also known from RTL Samstag Nacht (German version of Saturday Night Live from the 1990s) and as the writer and director of "Mara and the Firebringer", on which Norman also worked. Both were also largely responsible for ProSieben's Fairy Tale Hour. So, of course, a few photos with K.I.T.T. were a must 😀

  • As usual, there were hundreds of cheerful cosplayers in attendance. EGApark is a great spot for taking photos. The manga characters, of course, fit perfectly with the Japanese Garden - so I took some photos of them with K.I.T.T., too.

  • The great thing about the "home game" in Erfurt is that my family and friends can be there too. My wife, my sons, my sister-in-law, and my nephew came again wearing their myKITT.de T-shirts, and my nieces and a few friends were there as well 🙂
  • The first day of the event ended at 18:00. I left the car there overnight, since we planned to be back again on Sunday...
Day 2 - Sunday (10.05.2026)
  • Since K.I.T.T. had spent the night at EGApark, I took the tram there on Sunday morning. Once again this year, there were large posters at the stops advertising the event.
  • Once there, I gave K.I.T.T. another good cleaning - it had already gathered quite a bit of dust again. Soon after, the grounds began to fill up with visitors once more.

  • Today, I spent most of my time taking more photos of cosplayers with K.I.T.T. and chatting with visitors around the car.
  • So "Knight Rider" fan Holger, whom I had met while preparing the "Knight Rider" Blu-ray box set, also made a special trip to Erfurt again. Kathy and Markus from the ZIDZ.COMmunity were also there again. And, of course, Alex and Alex from the DeLorean and Ecto-1.

  • A cosplay parade through the park was scheduled for 15:00 again today. Of course, K.I.T.T. couldn't miss it, so I "unplugged" him from the external power supply in time. I was also happy that my sons and a few of their friends came along. Thousands of visitors lined the park's streets once again and took hundreds of photos - a great experience!

  • Following the parade, the band "Tag der Helden" once again performed a concert on the stage behind K.I.T.T. - featuring numerous well-known TV theme songs from our childhood. As always, it was an absolute highlight of the event.
  • Conclusion: ComicPark 2026 in Erfurt was once again a huge success. The organization was outstanding, the weather was perfect, and thousands of visitors were thrilled to see K.I.T.T. and took photos with the cheeky wonder car. We'd love to come back 🙂
