2023-03-28 - Restoration of the door decor trim

My K.I.T.T. is now almost 35 years old. Therefore, of course, he also shows some signs of age. Among other things, in some places of the decorative trim inside the driver's door panel, the black paint began to flake off and light flash rust formed.
I took out the door panel and removed the decorative trim. After I sanded and repainted it, it looks good again.
In the show, the trim can be seen in black or in chrome with black center stripe. I initially considered chrome-plating it as well, but then decided to go back to black to preserve the continuity of my replica - after all, there are numerous star photos in which the trim is black.
