Day 1 - Saturday (13th May 2023)
  • On 13th + 14th May 2023 there was the ComicPark again in the beautiful EGApark in my hometown Erfurt. Although the weather should be excellent this time on both days, I planned to participate this year initially only on Saturday. However, the event was so great that we spontaneously decided to attend again on Sunday.
  • Also this year K.I.T.T. was not the only highlight. Alex from Filmautos24.de was there with his Jurassic Park Jeep and a New York Taxicab. Also, the guys and gals from AJ-Designs and Big Attraction from Nuremberg were there again with their Transformers costumes. The figures are absolutely impressive! In addition, there were again various end-time vehicles and some vehicles that were pasted in manga style. In addition, the X-Wing T-70 from ZMontagen was on display, too.
  • In addition there were the Avengers Live with Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, Hawkeye and Hulk as well as the Ghostbusters German Division and the Umbrella Corporation from "Resident Evil" with two police cars. And Björn Kuhlow aka "The German Jack" as Captain Jack Sparrow from "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Lucky Logan" ("X-Men") were also there.
  • Again, K.I.T.T. was on display this year directly behind the main entrance, so that he could be seen by all visitors of the EGApark.
  • This time, the numerous sales and themed booths even stretched across the entire EGApark. The event has never been this big before. In addition, the ComicPark offered a hall with comic artists and German voice actors, various workshops and walking acts, and, as always, an entertainment program on the park stage and in the lilies garden.

  • At 09:00 AM the park opened and the first visitors streamed in. In total, about 17,000 visitors came on both days.
  • Many of the visitors came in elaborately designed cosplays (costumes). Due to the great location with Japanese garden, which is of course perfect as a photo backdrop, there were many manga characters, but also other well-known charcters from film and television.
  • The ComicPark also offered a few star guests this time: 4 well-known German voice actors were available for free autographs and selfies and also led through a panel on the park stage: Peter Flechtner (German voice of Ben Affleck, Phil Dunphy from "Modern Family" and K.I.T.T. from "Knight Rider 2008" and "Ze Network"), Sven Plate (German voice of Bugs Bunny, Will Wheaton from "The Big Bang Theory"), Dirk Meyer (German voice of Fry from "Futurama," Brian from "ALF" and Bud Bundy from the first seasons of "Married... with children") and Daniel Schlauch (German voice of Zac Efron and Ruffy from "One Piece").
  • Since Peter Flechter lends his voice to K.I.T.T. in "Knight Rider 2008" and "Ze Network", I also wanted to get some autographs from him this time. For this I had printed out the photos I had already taken with him and my K.I.T.T. at our first meeting in December 2022 at German Comic Con in Dortmund.

  • Otherwise, the day was mainly dominated by the numerous cosplayers, who, due to the favorable location at the main entrance, inevitably all passed K.I.T.T., so that I could take many great photos with them...

  • At 1:30 PM the voice actors panel took place on the park stage. I was able to talk to them beforehand and also took selfies with Peter Flechtner (German voice for K.I.T.T. from "Knight Rider 2008" and "Ze Network", Ben Affleck and Phil Dunphy from "Modern Familiy") and Dirk Meyer (German voice fpr Fry from "Futurama").

  • The weather was excellent throughout the day. Only around 4:30 PM there was a short shower, but it disappeared quite quickly.

  • At the end of the day, the four German voice actors stopped by at K.I.T.T. so that I could take a few photos with them. And Dirk Meyer (German voice for Fry from "Futurama") didn't miss the opportunity to take a seat at the wheel.
Day 2 - Sunday (14th May 2023)
  • Although I actually only wanted to attend on Saturday, I spontaneously decided that we would also attend again on Sunday. On the one hand, the weather was excellent again, on the other hand, my family also wanted to visit the ComicPark for a second day, so that there was nothing against me also exhibiting K.I.T.T. once again.

  • At 10:00 AM there was another autograph session with the German voice actors scheduled and I decided to get my buddy Toby an autograph from each of them, since he collects them. And if I'm there anyway, I can also get a few autographs myself and still take selfies with Sven Plate and Daniel Schlauch, which I hadn't gotten on Saturday.
  • I had also prepared a few lines for a voice recording of Peter Flechtner as K.I.T.T. from "Knight Rider 2008" in order to cut a small dialogue between the two vehicles into a video. Peter recorded the lines for me. The result can be found here.

  • Today I spent most of the day with Alex from Filmautos24.de at K.I.T.T. and his Jurassic Park Jeep. But we also went a round through the park and met many familiar faces.

  • Also today, many great cosplayers came by K.I.T.T. again, so I was able to take numerous photos with them.

  • For 4:30 PM there was planned a cosplayer parade through the park. I actually did not want to go, because I had K.I.T.T. connected to the external power supply, but spontaneously decided to attend and should not regret it. Numerous visitors lined the park streets and took hundreds of photos.

  • At the end of the day, Jack Sparrow and Wheeljack from the Transformers came by. Besides, my family visited me, so that my youngest son (5) could stay with K.I.T.T. for a while - the inheritance is secured 😉

  • Conclusion: ComicPark 2023 in Erfurt was a complete success. With around 17,000 visitors on both days, there was a new record number of visitors. The organization was excellent, the weather was almost perfect, and thousands of visitors were delighted to see K.I.T.T. and take photos with the cheeky supercar. We'll be back next year 🙂
